Tour route: Christchurch - Milford Sound - Fox Glacier - Franz Josef Glacier - Rainforest and Glacier Walks - Trans Alpine Railway - Christchurch
Day 1: Christchurch - Mt Cook - Queenstown
Board a coach at Christchurch and travel along the Southern Alps, past Lake Tekapo and Lake Pukaki to arrive at Mt Cook Village, where we stop for lunch. Continue along the scenic Lindis Pass and the steep Kawarau Gorge to Queenstown. Stay overnight at Queenstown.
Day 2: Full Day Excursion to Milford Sound
Travel by coach to the Fiordland National Park. This World Heritage Park is famous for its wild landscape with thick forests, streams, waterfalls, snow-covered peaks, glaciers, fiords, islands, valleys and lakes. Proceed to Te Anau and through the Homer Tunnel to Eglinton Valley to arrive at Milford Sound. Here you can have an enjoyable cruise on Milford Sound and view Mitre Peak and the waterfalls that surround you. Return to Queenstown to stay overnight.
Day 3: Queenstown - Glaciers
Travel by coach through Cromwell, Wanaka and Hawea, drive though the Haast Pass and arrive at Westland National Park. Then we see the Franz Josef Glacier and can explore the surrounding forested area. Stay overnight at either Franz Josef Glacier or Fox Glacier.
Day 4: Glaciers - Christchurch
Board the coach to Greymouth and see beautiful landscape and thick forests along your way. Arrive in Greymouth and board the TranzAlpine train. Travel from the west coast to the east coast along the Arthur's Pass National Park, see the Southern Alps, the Waimakariri Gorge, the Canterbury Plains and arrive at Christchurch at the end of your Magical New Zealand Tour.
