Tour route: Christchurch - Dundedin - Taieri Gorge - Queenstown - Milford - Franz Josef - Christchurch
Day 1: Christchurch - Dunedin
Board the coach from Christchurch to Dundedin. En route you will see the Canterbury Plains, and the cities of Timaru and Omaru. The scenic drive takes you over Kilmog Hill and Mount Cargill, before you arrive in Dunedin, where you stay the night.
Day 2: Dunedin - Taieri Gorge - Queenstown
In the morning take a tour of Dunedin and see its heritage sights. In the afternoon, travel over the scenic Taieri Gorge and admire the scenery while on the Taieri Gorge Train to Pukerangi. Then proceed by coach to Queenstown, where you stay overnight.
Day 3: Queenstown/Milford/ Queenstown
Travel to the Fiordland National Park. This World Heritage Park is famous for its wild landscape with thick forests, streams, waterfalls, snow-covered peaks, glaciers, fiords, islands, valleys and lakes. Proceed to Te Anau and through the Homer Tunnel to Eglinton Valley to arrive at Milford Sound. Here you can have an enjoyable cruise on Milford Sound and view Mitre Peak and the waterfalls that surround you. Return to Queenstown to stay overnight.
Day 4: Queenstown
Spend a day at Queenstown and indulge in walking tours, sheep farm tours, lake cruises, bungee jumping, and water sports. You can also try a ride on the skyline Gondola. Stay overnight in Queenstown.
Day 5: Queenstown - Franz Josef
Board the coach for the west coast and Westland National Park. Travel past Cromwell, Wanaka, Hawea, the Haast Pass and arrive at Franz Josef. Here you can take a walking tour up to the glacier and view the enthralling sight of the glacial landscape. Stay overnight at Franz Josef.
Day 6 Franz Josef - Christchurch
Board the coach to Greymouth and travel through dense forest and scenic landscape. Embark on the TranzAlpine train. Travel past thick forest, through the Arthur's Pass National Park, Otira Rail Tunnel, over Waimakariri Gorge and the Canterbury Plains, before you arrive at Christchurch.
