Day 1: Christchurch - Akaroa
Travel from Christchurch to Akaroa across the Banks Peninsula. On the way you can see many species of birds at Lakes Ellesmere, including different kinds of waterfowl. Also take a trip to Birdlings Flat that divides the lake from the Pacific Ocean. Continue your journey over Hilltop from where you can see a panoramic view of the Onawe Peninsula. Travel past Barry's Bay, known for its cheese factory, before you arrive in Akaroa. In Akaroa we see the local sights and historical attractions. Stay overnight in Akaroa.
Day 2: Akaroa - Christchurch
Take a tour of Akaroa Harbor and see the historic whaling station. This town with a French influence is known for its wildlife and on your tour you are likely to see, penguins, dolphins and seals. At the end of the day, board the coach to return to Christchurch.
