  • Excess Reduction (ER): In general, New Zealand rates seek to bring down the excesses from 3093.75 NZD (including GST) to 253.12 NZD (including GST). This particular application is distinguished in terms of age, type of vehicle, rate, and location. However, it is to be noted that ER does not cover some specific damages or loss and it can never be waived in full.

  • Optional Protection Package: This particular insurance package includes Personal Effects and Baggage Insurance (PEB), Personal Accident Insurance (PAI), and Excess Reduction (ER). However, it is to be noted that this facility is not available across the globe.

  • Loss Damage Waiver (LDW): This particular insurance plan seeks to restrict the financial responsibility for any loss or damage caused to the Avis Vehicle. However, for proper application of this particular plan, you need to meet the terms of Avis rental agreement. In general, an excess pertains that can be brought down through the purchase of Excess Reduction (ER). LDW is generally included in most of the rates that are being followed in New Zealand.

  • Personal Accident Insurance (PAI): This particular plan provides the authorized driver of the rental car with coverage of a certain limit of Permanent Disablement, specified Permanent Total Loss, and even death. This plan also seeks to offer the driver of the vehicle with specific amount of medical expenses.

  • Personal Effects and Baggage Insurance (PEB): This particular plan aims to offer the renters and the authorized drivers along with any person traveling with the renter or the authorized driver with protection (Coverages). This plan however, does not include in it any hitchhiker and cover up to a specific loss limit for loss or damage to the baggage and personal things enclosed within the rental vehicle. This particular plan is not available separately and can only be purchased along with or as a part of Optional Protection Package.
