  • Wairarapa is the only wine district in Wellington. Martinborough is the best known and oldest vineyard growing area in Wairarapa. Pinot Noir is the most acclaimed grape variety in this area. Wairarapa enjoys a good climate when compared to other North Island areas. The success as well as style of its Sauvignon Blanc variety is evidence of this coalition.
